Michelle Cummings

I was born and raised in Austin and am a 3rd generation insurance professional. I have a background in Public Education and worked as an administrator for 8 years in the Houston ISD.  In looking for new challenges, I transitioned to insurance and became a licensed insurance agent, and in 2024 the opportunity to return to Austin presented itself, and I now serve as the CFO/COO of the Barclay Agency.   I love finding solutions to complex issues and ensuring that clients’ needs are met.

I received my undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and English from St. Lawerence University in upstate New York. After college, I joined Teach for America as a 2009 corps member and was placed in Houston, TX. I earned my Master’s in Education with a focus on Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Houston.

I am a mom of two girls, and I enjoy cooking, hiking, and spending time with my husband and family.
